PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds may not be the most popular game in town these days, but PUBG remains a hot commodity, with more than a million people playing it daily according to Steam. Over the past year, Bluehole has added three new maps, the latest being the snow-covered landscape of Vikendi.
Performance has changed for the better since Early Access, and the fps framerate cap is now a thing of the past. With new maps and engine updates, we felt it was a good time to update all of our benchmarks. Provided you're not trying to run at ultra-high resolutions and maximum quality, PUBG's system requirements aren't too bad.
In testing, all of the current CPUs and GPUs can deliver playable performance, though you'll want to tune things for your hardware.
If you're in any doubt, check out our best graphics card guide for more. Quickly running through the features checklist, Battlegrounds has plenty of graphics options, and it checks most of the right boxes. Resolution support is good, and aspect ratio support works properly in my testing, with a change in the FOV on ultrawide displays. Some items have been fixed over the past year, like the removal of the framerate cap.
Modding support remains the only missing item, and that's officially out—not that there aren't plenty of unauthorized hack mods floating around, though PUBG has been quite active about banning cheater accounts.

High quality preset - click for fullsize. Ultra quality preset - click for fullsize. Thanks, MSI! I tested performance with the various presets, along with each setting set to minimum, and compared that with the ultra preset.
The global preset is the easiest place to start tuning performance, but you'll probably want to tweak things to find a better balance. Going from the ultra preset to high will boost performance about 30 percent, the medium preset runs percent faster than ultra, the low preset will boost performance percent faster, and the minimum very low preset runs nearly twice as fast.
Most competitive players will run with the very low preset, but with view distance at ultra. If you're hoping to tweak the individual settings to better tune performance, I did some testing to see how much each setting affects framerates using the ultra preset as the baseline. I then dropped each setting down to the minimum very low setting and to measure the impact. It's like tweaking your resolution by small amounts, but I recommend leaving this at the default setting and changing your resolution instead.

Could not be fixed, lucky for me it was in the warranty period. Hi, for starters please take a look at the list of suggested troubleshooting steps below and go through it. I have few games, and i have crashes only one, this game is PUBG.
Thats unfortunate What are your PC specs and what are your in game settings? Are you able to monitor your hardware usage and temperatures while playing the game on a 2nd monitor for example? When i play my ik have max 85 C. Thanks for the info, you've got a pretty powerful PC, very similar to mine! Given that you have some issues with textures in the picture you've posted I would suggest that you remove the current GPU driver you have installed by using DDU Display Driver Uninstaller software and perform a fresh install of the new driver.
Texture failures like that almost always indicate a driver issue. This may also be what is causing your game to perform unstable. Same problem. Crash almost every single game. Impossible to play in 2k. It is weird because when I change some graphic settings and restart the game I can play 1 or to 2 without crash, then after crashes restart. After this crash I managed to play 3 without crash but sometimes every single game.
No shutters,no fps drops, freeze and client crash. I installed gpu drivers with ddu, windows update done. Before i was playing sometimes on p and sometimes on 2k without problem. Another crash video. First video I was getting fps, this video fps. Suddenly freeze for 20 seconds and get back to desktop client crash report. I can't even join the training area. It keeps freezing again and again and again and again and again, til i get a crash to desktop. I have tried changing my settings in game, even on nvidia software.
Resterted router 10 times, nothing works. I just can't play the game by any meanings. How can streamers play the game normal? I don't understand what's happening. Crash every game. No fps drop, no shutters. Crash directly On p it is more possible to play few games without crash.

This issue has now been resolved. All of the players affected by this issue have now had their bans removed. My sincerest apologies to all players who were impacted by this.
Of course the number of actual individual cheaters is probably a little less given that a huge number will just rebuy the game and start again. And probably get banned again. Quite a good business model if Bluehole is really that good at encouraging repeat purchasing…. The list was taken from the Cafe Pages of the game, though the good news is that the number of weekly bans has been steadily dropping since around February this year, with the number dropping below K for the first time this month.
AMD Custom Resolution not working.
That said, the number of actual players has also been dropping, with the huge popularity of Fortnite and the recently released Blackout mode in Black Ops 4swallowing up a lot of the battle royale love. That means the golden ratio between cheater and legit player is still rather uncomfortably weighted. Back to Top. Promoted How Rainbow Six Siege breached the world of esports. The higher the resolution the better — granted that you can afford it and that you have a powerful enough PC. If your PC rig is too strong for p, you should definitely invest in a p display.
1920×1080 vs 2560×1440 – Which One Should I Choose?
So, what exactly will p offer you as opposed to p, at what cost, and is worth it? Both resolutions have aspect ratio. This is where pixel density plays a key role. Essentially, this means that the picture on a inch p monitor will be pixelated, have smudgy text, and blurry details. With PPI, on the other hand, you hit the pixel density sweet spot as you get plenty of workspace as well as sharp and vivid details without having to use scaling!
This makes p monitors ideal for multi-tasking and professional purposes, especially if you can get two for a dual setup. When watching Full HD p content on a p monitor, a video player uses upscaling or upconversion process which matches the number of pixels in order to deliver the full-screen viewing experience. For instance, the p Blu-ray movies look fantastic on p resolution displays, while some lesser quality videos are not as sharp — but still watchable.
While gaming is very demanding at p, everyday use is not. In the end, it all comes down to your personal preference, your PC gear, and the available budget. Keep in mind that with the GTXyou could also opt for a p Hz monitor instead, if you mainly play fast-paced competitive FPS games. As you can see, there are many things to take into account when it comes to p vs p. All rights reserved. Did you like what you read?

So far we know the game strongly favors Intel's hardware when it comes to CPU performance and only requires four cores if they are clocked at more than 4GHz.
Moving on from our last round of testing, we have an epic battle between Radeon and GeForce graphics cards. Before going any further, we should note that PUBG is an Nvidia supported title and during the game's early access phase it heavily favored hardware from the green team.
For whatever reason, AMD almost always gets the rough end of the stick when it comes to hugely popular titles -- actually, the reason is money, and Nvidia simply has more of it to throw at developers. Having seen how successful PUBG was early on, Nvidia climbed on board and before long we started to see the GeForce logo appear on the game's loading screen. AMD has of course been optimizing its drivers for the game and we've seen numerous releases over the past few months that address performance, but you can rest assured that Nvidia has paid to win this one.
Most of the testing will be done using the ultra quality preset though we realize serious players will use lower quality settings and we'lI touch on those before the end of this article. The latest AMD and Nvidia display drivers available at the time of testing have been used and all graphics cards were tested on our standard GPU test rig. That's all the important stuff, so without wasting any more time let's get to the results because there's a boat load of them.
Kicking things off, we have some real relics. Can you believe some of these models are three years old now? For an average of around 60fps, gamers will require an R9 Fury or GTX graphics card from the previous generation.
